DIY Project of the Week

I just adore this bed/sofa made with a used pallet.
it is so cute and the wheels at the base give a lovely extra touch...
I think something like this would be lovely for the kid's room or for a weekend house..

Bedroom inspirations - bedsides

ohhhh I'm in love with the bedside!
via remodelista

love love love the bedside!!
this looks like a very relaxing bedroom

Studio inspiration

I find this image so relaxing!!
That's what a call the right place to work from.. (ok, it lacks some shelving, storage, some mess, a laptop, pencils, paper, drawers... ) but definitely my preferred colour for thinking is white.

Neutral studio inspiration

I'm so inspired by this!!

Here are some inspiring storage solutions...
the designerpad.com this is just so inspiring

neat and tidy, a good solution to create
space for both plants and books

I would love to put my hands on something as cool as this file cabinet

i don't know why this has always been one of my favourite things,
a library around the windows..

Opening my Scrapbook

I have a huge folder full of cut-outs from interior design magazines etc, that I've collected over the years.
This is one of them, they are images from an article I read on MarieClaire Maison years ago about a charming bed and breakfast in Brussels: Chambre en Ville.
It's not the style I would normally go for, but some of the objects the owner selected are so particular, and the cupboard in the kitchen is just amazing.

The owner's crockery collection is well displayed
in the white deal made to measure étagère.
The professional  stainless steel tap stands out as it is the only modern piece visible in the room.
Note the colours of the chairs, they add a little colour lift but also blend in with the rest of the oom
The table is surrounded by chairs of different styles
Note the antique ladder beside the shelving.
One of the bedrooms and another lovely neutral paint on the walls

I love the antique console table give a romantic touch to the bathroom

Again the chairs around this table
have all been painted in different pastel colours

I love the details of the key rings

Another one of the bedroom painted in a colour that reminds me of
the "skylight" shade made by Farrow and Ball

Home Extension the Glass Box

I love this home extension project by David Mikhail Architects in particular the material used. The black wood, the cherry wood the bricks and the glass, mix in so well and it's so elegant yet urban & "edgy"

Total white?

Do you love white? This is a good solution to make a total white home look warm and welcoming.

Contraindication: just make sure your dog is of a slightly different shade of white...

Old barn - Total make over

Here is a great project by Maxwan Architects
It is an old barn on a beautiful site on the river Linge in the city of Geldermalsen.
I love the large piece of furniture that also serves as kitchen, storage, stairs and library all at once.

The old barn restored

This staircase is also used as a library, reading area and s part of the kitchen presses

Recycling mood again!

I found this lovely coat hanger on Etsy, and guess what, it's not that difficult to make one yourself!

recycled spoons - coat hanger - hooks

Can you keep a secret?

I found the most amazing website!!! and now I'm goung to buy myself a nice treat!!
I can't believe they sell this sofa for only £599  instead of £2.999.
There also are some beautiful tables and chairs... here is the link, but keep it to yourself!

Another DIY project

Did I tell you I like pallets?
I like them so much that I actually make my husband going around with me at night in the market area in Dublin to collect unwanted and abandoned pallet in need of love and care!
With a couple of pallets I have made a pretty garden table (which I'll show you some time) but for now, study this project here below, because it's cute!

Garden floor covering

Another image from Modular Garden
I love the covering of this outdoor floor - the tiles mixed with pebbles combined with the decking make out of this tiny space a contemporary, but cosy garden.

Modern Small city Garden

I adore this creation by Modular Garden a small city garden designed on two levels,.
Multiplies the space and the impact of the vegetation.
I would say you need a minimum of 7 meters length to reproduce something similar to this garden.
I also think they could have used the space underneath the second level for storage...

Free standing kitchens

More and more I'm interested in freestanding kitchens, because the way the compromise between functionality and warmth.
In general I love kitchens that make you feel at home, where you can be surrounded by your things, and when you come back after a day of work even looking at the morning cereals is kind of reassuring, on the other side I'm quite demanding in terms of functionality and storage space and my ideal is a professional kitchen, easy to clean and comfortable to use.
Freestanding kitchens matching materials like stainless steel and wood are a really good solution.
Here is my choice:

Not the usual pull out bed

Pull out beds are always associated with cheap design and poor quality. But this is definitely not true when you talk about a pull out bed made by Futura, the company that invented the first pull out bed mechanismsn (by - Mr Luigi Recalcati)
The company offers a huge variety of sofas, armchairs and poufs that become beds if necessary, all of them have a distinctive design and great functionality.
I went to visit their show room and I was really impressed with the quality of the products and also with the beauty of some of them.
The first couch I want to present in my blog is Game that becomes a double chaise long or a double bed 153X200 without even having to move it away from the wall. Pure genius (Ps: it is a patented system)
